4 Applications of hypermedia systems

In this chapter we discuss some of the most important applications of hypermedia systems. We do not try to list all of the hundreds of existing and potential applications, but you will probably find many of them anyway when browsing on the Web. We shall also explain some of the pitfalls you have to watch out for when you are developing your own applications and we will point out in some places how Hyper-G can help you. This will prepare for the more detailed discussion of Hyper-G and other Web systems that follows in Chapters 5 through 10.
