Core of this system is the so called intelligent knowledge system based on Hyperwave with several sophisticated information gatherer, analyzer, and broker modules. Relevance based keyword extraction and explanation is implemented as well as automatic vocative hyperlink creation. Dynamic relevance assessment is a main part of the broker modules. In addition static and dynamic background libraries are supported to allow the user quick look-ups in dictionaries and encyclopedias while browsing the content of the library. The system provides highly structured content as well as the creation of virtual journals. Users can even define their personal sub-libraries. Besides Web access also CD-ROM extraction of parts of the library is supported and a sophisticated user-access and billing system is integrated.KeywordsWeb-based digital library, intelligent knowledge broker, information structuring, information relevance assessment, Hyperwave |
