9/1114.8 Server administration
The central components of Hyper-G are user accounts, user groups, personal home collections for users and user access rights.
For setting up user accounts and user groups and for several other administrative purposes two tools are available:
- hgadmin
- A VT100-based
administration tool that is automatically installed with the server
software.
- haradmin
- An
XWindows-based administration tool. It is not automatically
installed with the server software but is part of Harmony and
available by anonymous FTP from
ftp.iicm.tu-graz.ac.at, directory
/pub/Hyper-G/Harmony and from several mirror sites.
Both administration tools have the same basic functionality, only their user interface is different. In the following haradmin, the XWindows tool, is used in our examples where necessary, but everything is applicable to hgadmin as well.
