22 Structuring information using Hyper-G
Gerald Mesaric, Walter Schinnerl
In this chapter we describe the general principles of structuring and providing information with Hyper-G. Chapters 23, 24 and 25 explain in detail how to do this with Harmony, Amadeus and a set of special database manipulation tools.
When you first start a Hyper-G server it will be empty except for some demo material that comes with the installation. It will now be up to you to decide how to fill it with information. In general this requires thinking about two things:
- Who should be able to insert information? Who should be able to read it?
- Where should ``authors'' insert information and how should your
server' s contents be organized and presented to the user?
