2.3.1.4 The user interface

The part of the system which makes the ITS appear ``intelligent'' is the user interface. The system should react in a flexible and adaptive way to the student's learning process [Sch96]. Most systems use natural language to communicate with the student which is, indeed, very hard to analyse.
